Summary
Kung-Fu Heroes is the NES incarnation of the arcade classic Chinese Hero, the launchpad of the long‑running Super Chinese series. The game landed in North America under the Culture Brain label, offering players the chance to step into the shoes of either Jacky or Lee. Each stage unfolds as a tightly‑screened arena where hordes of warriors pour in, and the only way forward is to thin the ranks enough for the exit door at the top to rise.
The twin‑character system lets you swap between the brawler’s slightly different moves, but the core challenge stays the same: carve a path through increasingly inventive foes armed with diverse weapons and attacks. When you finally bust through the door, the next, tougher room awaits.
Scattered throughout the main action are generous bonus stages, accessible once you meet certain criteria, where you can rack up extra points and power‑ups before diving back into the melee.
Storyline
In the NES title Kung‑Fu Heroes, a horde of monsters has seized Princess Min‑Min and pilfered the ten legendary treasures that protect the nameless land, plunging the realm into gloom. The game follows the two kung‑fu masters, Jacky and Lee, who have just returned from intensive training. Determined to restore peace, they set out on a side‑scrolling quest to track down each stolen relic and free the captive princess. Along the way they battle a variety of bizarre enemies, navigating treacherous stages that test their martial skills. Their ultimate goal is to reunite the treasures, rescue Min‑Min, and bring hope back to the kingdom.
