Summary
The NES title Knight Rider drops you into a cross‑country sprint that weaves through fifteen distinct cities, starting in L.A., looping up to San Francisco and returning home. As KITT, I can tweak fuel and shield levels, boost top speed, and choose how many missiles or lasers I start with, which makes each run feel like a tiny garage upgrade session. The first six stages throw in friendly Knight trucks that hand out power‑ups, while a relentless time clock keeps the pressure on.
Traffic is color‑coded: red cars are hostile, blue are harmless civilians, and the occasional yellow cruiser hides its own power‑up. KITT’s structural shield can take a few hits, but repeated crashes or sustained gunfire will finally wreck the iconic black car. Every three checkpoints Devon pops in with a password so I can pick up the chase later.
If I just want scenery, the game’s "drive" mode strips out weapons and enemies for a pure road‑trip vibe—though, oddly, it never plays the series’ famous theme.
Storyline
Knight Rider on the NES follows a simple but thrilling premise. Terrorists have raided a U.S. military site, threatening national security. Only a lone man and his high‑tech robotic car can pursue the villains across the United States. Together they race to stop the terrorists’ evil plan.
