Summary
JJ: Tobidase Daisakusen Part II, often called Jumpin' Jack, is a quirky little relic that Square dropped only in Japan just before they launched the Final Fantasy series. What makes it stand out is its use of the Famicom 3D System – the last Square title to ever require those clunky 3‑D glasses – and a camera that trails the player in a third‑person scrolling shooter style. Compared to its predecessor, the game cranks up the speed, ramps up the difficulty, and swaps the bright cartoon vibe for a darker, more colorful aesthetic. Nobuo Uematsu returned to score the sequel, reworking eight tracks from the original and marking his 16th video‑game composition. Even though it never left Japan, the blend of rapid‑fire action, retro‑3D gimmickry, and Uematsu’s synth‑driven soundtrack gives Jumpin' Jack a surprisingly memorable charm for anyone digging into Square’s pre‑Final Fantasy era.
Storyline
In JJ - Tobidase Daisakusen Part 2, Jack is back on a galaxy‑spanning quest. As in the previous title, he must hop between a series of worlds, wielding his trusty laser cannon and using his jumping ability to navigate the levels. His goal is to eradicate the serpentbeasts that have overrun the planets and restore peace to the cosmos.
