Summary
Godzilla 2: War of the Monsters drops you into a crisis where Earth, especially Japan, is under siege by Godzilla and a roster of classic kaiju. As the commander of the Allied Defense Forces, I pick actions from a tiny pop‑up menu that handles everything from moving units to launching attacks. The game’s core is pure strategy – you plot smart‑weapon placements on a map and decide when to fire, while trying to out‑think the monsters’ instinctual aggression. Occasionally a beast will even side with the army, adding a surprising twist to each playthrough. Despite its minimalist interface, the challenge ramps quickly; every decision can tip the balance between total devastation and a narrow victory, feeling like a ’90s tactical exercise disguised as a monster brawl.
Storyline
Godzilla 2: War of the Monsters drops you into a chaotic Japan overrun by giant creatures. The island nation is under siege from everything from seismic Baragon to sky‑ripping Rodan. Even the toxic sludge monster Hedorah is growing bigger on the city’s waste. Mothra’s massive caterpillars are laying eggs across the streets, while a giant octopus tears apart the harbor. Above it all, the three‑headed fire‑breather King Ghidorah roars, and alien saucers begin their invasion.
You take control of the J.S.D.F., the only force capable of fighting back. The game lets you command the Army to intercept each monster and the alien fleet. Every level is a frantic scramble to stop the destruction before Japan is completely flattened.
