Summary

Fighting Hero III (often just called Fighting Hero III) is a 1993 NES fighting title that came out of NTDEC’s modest catalog. Despite wearing the sequel badge, it feels more like a spiritual cousin than a direct follow‑up, sharing only the basic one‑on‑one combat framework with its predecessor. The game leans into the era’s arcade‑style button‑mashing, offering a roster of characters that feel more like a roster shuffle than a narrative continuation. What stands out is the way NTDEC tried to squeeze a full‑blown fighter onto the limited NES hardware, resulting in a surprisingly brisk pace and a handful of quirky moves. In short, Fighting Hero III is a nostalgic glimpse at early‑90s fighting experiments, notable more for its ambition than its lineage.
