Summary
Felix the Cat (the NES platformer) sends the iconic feline on a quest to rescue his girlfriend Kitty from the mad Professor. The side‑scrolling adventure spans nine worlds populated by moles, tree trunks, cannons, birds, fish and eight boss monsters. Pressing A makes Felix jump—and repeated taps let him fly or swim—while B unleashes a magic attack that shifts strength with his current magic level. Scattered items replenish health and magic.
A hit strips one magic tier; if Felix is already at the lowest tier, a subsequent hit costs a life, as does falling into the bottomless pit or letting the timer run out. The Game Boy edition mirrors the NES formula but drops levels and runs in monochrome.
Although developed for Japan's Famicom, the title never released there, remaining a North American and European exclusive until a 2024 collection from Konami and Limited Run Games revived the versions on Switch and PlayStation consoles, adding save‑state and rewind features. Reviewers appreciated the faithful use of the cartoon licence, handing the NES version scores around 7–8 out of 10 from major magazines.
