Summary

Family Trainer – Rairai Kyonsees (sometimes called Baby Kyonshi's Ladder Adventure) caps off Bandai’s long‑running line of Family Trainer/Power Pad titles for the NES. It’s the tenth and final entry that actually requires the foot‑pad peripheral, which feels like a nostalgic nod to the era’s quirky fitness‑gaming experiments. The game leans on a Japanese TV series about a hopping vampire‑kid, turning that premise into a series of bite‑sized challenges where you control the little Kyonshi with your feet. What sets it apart is the “ladder” mechanic – each rung randomly selects the next mini‑game, keeping the experience fresh and unpredictable. For anyone who loves retro hardware quirks, this title is a perfect, if obscure, showcase of how far Bandai pushed the Power Pad before saying goodbye to the platform.

Storyline

Family Trainer – Rairai Kyonsees (often just called Family Trainer) puts you in the role of a caretaker for a baby kyonshi, the hopping vampire‑like creature from Chinese folklore. Your goal is to guide the little kyonshi through a series of challenges until it can reunite with its parents.

Each time you climb a ladder, the game randomly selects the next mini‑game, adding variety to the search. The quirky premise mirrors the TV show that follows the young kyonshi’s adventures.
