Play Famicom Shougi - Ryuuousen Online

Summary

Famicom Shogi: Ryuu-Ou-Sen is a quirky entry in the NES library that brings the ancient board game of shogi to a console most gamers associate with platformers and action titles. Developed by Home Data and released under the I’Max label, the game arrived in Japan in 1991, slipping under the radar of Western audiences.

Classified as a “Miscellaneous” title, it showcases a minimalist interface and straightforward controls that let players focus on the strategic depth of shogi without the usual console fanfare. Its niche appeal makes it a hidden gem for collectors who enjoy exploring the more obscure corners of retro gaming.
