Summary
Eliminator Boat Duel lets you dive into the high‑stakes world of hydroplane racing, where each win nets you a few thousand dollars. Those cash prizes aren’t just bragging rights—you can spend them on repairs and upgrades, tweaking the boat’s engine, hull and fuel system to stay ahead as the courses get tougher. The game offers three difficulty tiers—Easy, Normal and Expert—and finishing a race on a lower tier automatically bumps you up to the next, with each level adding more aggressive opponents and harsher damage from colliding with animals, rival boats, or stationary obstacles. A false start isn’t just a visual cue; it slaps a $2,000 fine on your bankroll, so timing is everything.
Most of the action is viewed from a scrolling bird’s‑eye perspective, but a single segment flips to a third‑person chase view that adds a burst of adrenaline. You’ll start against Seasick Sidney (or Aquarius Rex or Surfer Bob, depending on the difficulty) and then face off with Vicious Vicky, Weird Willy, Mangler Mike, Veronica Alabaster, and finally the reigning champion, Disaster Don, each on three of the 24 distinct race courses. A quirky footnote for collectors: the North American cartridge’s top label misspells the title as “Elimonator Boat Duel.”
