Summary

Conflict is a hex‑based war game for the NES that puts you in the boots of a three‑star general leading the Western Bloc. Victory points swing with every city you capture or enemy unit you destroy, turning each turn into a tense tug‑of‑war across the board. You can face off against the computer’s Eastern Bloc forces or hand the controller to a friend for a two‑player showdown, each side vying for strategic dominance on the same hex grid. The game’s simple yet deep mechanics make every decision feel weighty, as you balance offense, defense, and the ever‑present risk of losing hard‑earned points. A follow‑up, Super Conflict, later carried the concept onto the Super NES, expanding the same strategic core for a new generation of players.
