Summary

Booby Kids (the NES port of the arcade hit Kid’s Horehore Daisakusen) drops you into an overhead maze where you can instantly dig a booby trap beneath your feet and bury any enemy that wanders too close. The core loop is simple but unforgiving: a single hit from a dinosaur, caveman, samurai or robot ends your run, so timing your traps is everything. Each of the 21 stages is themed around a different era, and the game leans heavily into puzzle‑solving as you figure out how to snag every required item before the exit opens.

The early levels thrust you into prehistory, where you’re hunting for coconuts while dodging primitive foes. Mid‑game shifts to feudal Japan, demanding ancient scrolls amid samurai patrols, then jumps to a chaotic World War II theater where radios must be snatched from Japanese soldiers. Later stages bring modern streets teeming with criminals and police for you to loot bags of money, and a futuristic zone where you evade robots to collect glowing computer monitors.

Scattered among the era‑specific challenges are five bonus rooms that reward extra points for quick, flawless runs. The game’s charm lies in its blend of frantic trap‑laying, tight maze navigation, and the satisfaction of completing each time‑traveling tableau before moving on to the next.
