Summary
In Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa, you control a chubby infant named Upa who wields a rattling toy as his only weapon. A hit inflates foes, turning them into floating balloons that can be stood on briefly or hurled as ricocheting projectiles, though lingering too long on a balloon will cause it to burst.
Your life is tracked by a health meter that you can refill with scattered milk bottles, and a heart icon can temporarily boost your maximum health for the current world. Most collectibles are hidden in blocks bearing Upa’s smiling face, while apples raise your score, hourglasses freeze enemies, bells grant brief invincibility and speed, and scorpion blocks wipe out any enemy that falls onto them.
The game offers an "Easy" mode with reduced damage and extra lives, alongside a "Normal" setting that mirrors the original difficulty.
When the title migrated from the Disk System to a standard cartridge, the missing audio channel forced a remix of the soundtrack, and the opening screen lost its large portrait of Upa, giving the game a slightly leaner visual intro.
Storyline
Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa tells the tale of Prince Upa, the newest hero in a line of brave fighters from a magical kingdom. One day he accidentally shatters an ancient urn that seals the spirit of Zai, a goat‑like demon with a taste for the kingdom’s adult life force. Zai immediately begins draining the adults and kidnapping every baby, leaving only Upa untouched. A fairy trapped inside the broken urn hands Upa a magical rattle, the only tool that can combat the demon. Armed with the rattle, Upa sets out to rescue the kingdom’s children and restore peace.
