Summary

Crash 'n' the Boys: Street Challenge, known in Japan as Bikkuri Nekketsu Shin Kiroku! Harukanaru Kin Medal, turns the NES into a chaotic Olympic arena where five quirky teams battle for the coveted gold medal. Each squad fields five athletes, each with a distinct strength‑and‑weakness profile, and before every event you can wander a tiny mall to spend earned medals on power‑ups—spending wisely can be the difference between a podium finish and a wipeout.

The game mixes solo challenges like Hammer Throw and Roof Top Jumping with head‑to‑head showdowns in 400 m hurdles, swimming, and a surprisingly brutal fighting round. After beating two opponents you face a member of the notorious Team Thornley for the top spot, keeping the tension high until the final medal count is tallied. Up to four friends can join the fray, with the third and fourth players sharing controllers, so you don’t need a four‑player adapter to experience the mayhem.

Storyline

After the chaotic showdown in Downtown Nekketsu March: Super‑Awesome Field Day, the ambitious Toudou Mamoru (also known as Kounosuke Todou) decides to settle the score with a new sports competition. His original plan was to crush the rival schools at the athletic meet, but Nekketsu High’s unexpected strength handed him a defeat. Unwilling to accept the loss, Mamoru returns to the drawing board, leveraging his wealth and influence to organize another event, promising total domination. The game, Bikkuri Nekketsu Shin Kiroku! – Harukanaru Kin Medal (often just called Harukanaru Kin Medal), challenges players to help Kunio‑Kun fight back against Todou’s renewed challenge.
