Summary
Bases Loaded II: Second Season landed on the NES after the original hit the shelves, first appearing in Japan as *Moero!! Pro Yakyū ’88 Kettei Ban* in 1988 and reaching North America in 1990. As the second chapter of Jaleco’s baseball saga, it kept the familiar fictitious twelve‑team league while introducing a fresh roster of characters.
The game added a quirky *biorhythm* mechanic, letting you track each player’s form for optimal performance, and switched the field perspective: when the home team is at bat the camera watches from the first‑base line, and from the third‑base line for visitors. You could now rearrange your lineup and batting order, and a mandatory “9‑run rule” could end a game early after the fifth inning if the home side trailed, while no contest could stretch beyond twelve innings.
All twelve clubs have themed names – Washington’s squad is filled with politicians and Los Angeles boasts Hollywood‑named players, even a Hawaiian pitcher simply called Ho. The title was popular enough to be novelized by Peter Lerangis in Scholastic’s *Worlds of Power* line, and Allgame gave it four out of five stars.
