Summary

Banana Prince (known in Japan as Bananan Ouji no Daibouken) is a quirky NES platformer that feels like a tropical treasure hunt. You play as an island native who carries a bag of seeds; planting one sprouts a flower you can climb, while collecting flower tokens lets you grow even larger blossoms to reach secret areas.

Along the way you’ll rescue companions and even get thrust onto a wacky game‑show stage that serves as a shortcut to another level. Hidden platforms and doors appear only after you’ve gathered the right tokens, rewarding careful exploration.

The German release swapped in slightly altered graphics and rewrote the game‑show questions, giving the title a modest regional flavor while keeping the core, seed‑powered gameplay intact.

Storyline

Bananan Ouji no Daibouken, known casually as The Banana Prince, opens with a tranquil Banana Kingdom suddenly besieged by the malevolent Great King and his pepper‑armed army. The invaders ravage the land, steal the sacred Banana, and leave the kingdom in ruins. Determined to restore peace, the young Banana Prince vows revenge and justice. He embarks on a perilous journey across diverse lands, confronting the Great King’s forces and seeking clues to recover the holy fruit. The adventure unfolds as a classic hero’s quest, blending whimsical charm with the high stakes of reclaiming his kingdom’s lost treasure.
