Summary
Aladdin on the NES turns the classic tale into a nonstop carpet‑riding romp. I’m constantly slashing with Aladdin’s gleaming scimitar, ducking Jafar’s traps, and racing through the bustling streets of Agrabah, the Sultan’s dungeon, and the blazing Cave of Wonders. The high‑speed carpet sections feel like a turbo‑charged chase, and the moment you grab the Genie’s Lamp you’re thrust into a wild pinball‑style arena where every bounce feels fresh.
The enemy roster is delightfully oddball: palace guards literally drop their drawers, desert warriors swing swords, and camels hurl clumps of dirt like projectiles. Each encounter feels like a quick sketch, keeping the action brisk and the humor alive. Even the thieves you face have a cartoonish swagger that makes every fight feel like a short, punchy comic strip.
Inside the Genie’s Lamp, the gameplay flips into a frantic, pinball‑like frenzy. Aladdin ricochets off walls and enemies, turning the lamp into a glittering arena where timing and reflexes are everything. It’s a quirky, high‑energy twist that caps off an already exhilarating ride.
Storyline
In the NES version of Aladdin, players guide the street‑wise hero through the bustling streets of Agrabah, battling enemies as they go. After clearing the city, Aladdin is thrown into the Sultan’s dungeon, where he must find a way out. The adventure then leads him into the treacherous Cave of Wonders, a maze of traps and monsters.
Surviving the cave allows him to claim the magical Genie’s Lamp. With the lamp in hand, Aladdin confronts the evil Jafar and rescues Princess Jasmine, restoring peace to the kingdom.
