Summary

Star Virgin feels like a lost relic from the neon‑lit 80s, a one‑hour promotional video that was made to hype a barely‑noticed MSX2 game. The film rolls out like a live‑action anime, blending campy sci‑fi, fantasy and slap‑stick comedy as a pink‑clad heroine—part power‑ranger, part space‑pilot—takes on robotic puppets, giant spiders and other over‑the‑top boss monsters. Her arsenal includes a bazooka and a sleek power‑bike, and she’s constantly flanked by a robotic butler‑driver and a floating volcanic lair that houses an eccentric genius. The most memorable set‑pieces are the absurdly stylish spacecraft battles, complete with a robotic Statue of Liberty that looms over the chaos. Even without subtitles, the sheer visual excess makes the hour feel like a bizarre music video, the kind of thing that would fit perfectly with The Flaming Lips’ "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots."
