Summary

Star Blazer on the MSX feels like a high‑octane, side‑scrolling dogfight where every second counts. You pilot a lone fighter jet through cramped cityscapes, warehouses and skyways, dodging enemy jets, rockets and even the occasional falling building. The game forces you to juggle a scarce ammo count for the on‑board machine gun and a limited bomb supply that only works at dangerously low altitudes, turning each bombing run into a tense ballet of timing and positioning. Fuel isn’t infinite either; you have to chase down parachutes dropped by friendly planes to stay airborne, adding a frantic scavenger‑hunt element to the action. All of these constraints combine to make each mission feel like a high‑stakes, resource‑management shoot‑‘em‑up.
