Alibaba Play Online 🪙 MSX Games in Browser

Summary

Ali Baba and 40 Thieves landed on the MSX as a faithful translation of Sega’s early‑80s maze arcade hit, preserving the frantic chase through winding corridors. In this version you still play the legendary Arab hero, darting after the thieves while the Chief of Thieves gives you a relentless tail. When a thief reaches the bottom of the screen he morphs into a bag of money, and snatching that cash boosts your score. Random question‑mark icons pop up in the maze, rewarding you with temporary perks such as extra points, double speed or invulnerability. The MSX port later inspired a Vector‑06C version, and a ZX Spectrum clone simply titled "Ali Baba" appeared from Suzy Soft in 1985.

Storyline

Alibaba on the MSX draws directly from the classic folk tale. In the game you step into the shoes of the legendary Arabian hero, Alibaba, who must battle the infamous forty thieves intent on stealing his treasure. The objective is to fend off and ultimately kill each of the thieves to protect his money. The simple premise mirrors the story’s core conflict, turning the timeless legend into an action‑filled retro experience.
