Play Super Golf Online

Summary

Super Golf on the Game Gear packs a surprisingly deep swing of classic golf into the handheld’s tiny screen. Despite being a Japan‑only launch in 1991, the title’s crisp sprite work and simple controls let you line up a drive or putt with just a few button presses. Sigma Entertainment’s modest publishing effort gave the game a clean, no‑frills presentation that feels more like a pocket tournament than a side‑scrolling novelty.

What stands out is how the game balances challenge and accessibility; each hole is laid out with clear landmarks, yet wind and terrain subtly shift the difficulty. The limited color palette actually helps the ball stand out, making it easy to track even on the Game Gear’s modest LCD. For anyone who enjoys a quick round on the go, Super Golf remains a tidy reminder that handheld sports games can be both straightforward and surprisingly satisfying.
