Play Space Harrier Online

Summary

The Game Gear version of Space Harrier brings the soaring, surreal shooter to a handheld screen with a surprisingly rich package. Built on the Master System conversion, it trims the original’s eighteen stages down to twelve but compensates with freshly designed enemies that feel both familiar and new. The most striking addition is the exclusive final boss, Hayo Oh—a twin‑bodied fire dragon that caps the adventure with a fiery showdown you won’t see elsewhere. Even years after its 1991 release, the title hides a little secret: a fully playable Space Harrier appears as an Easter egg in the PlayStation 2’s Space Harrier Complete Collection, rewarding fans who dig a little deeper.
