Summary

Ninkuu Gaiden: Hiroyuki Daikatsugeki (often shortened to Ninku Gaiden) brings the high‑energy world of the Ninkuu franchise to Sega’s handheld Game Gear in a crisp top‑down format. The game leans into fast‑paced action, letting you dash across scrolling stages while chaining attacks with the series’ signature martial‑arts moves. Its sprite work is surprisingly detailed for a 1990s portable, capturing the bright, kinetic feel of the anime without sacrificing readability on the tiny screen. Controls feel tight, with a simple button layout that encourages quick reflexes and strategic positioning rather than button‑mashing. Even though it never made a big splash here, the title remains a neat example of how licensed anime properties were adapted for handheld action experiences in the era.
