Play NHL Hockey Online

Summary

NHL Hockey on Game Gear is Sega’s handheld port of EA Sports’ early ice‑hockey simulation. Because the game was released under the official NHL and NHLPA licences, it carries real team names, arena colours and player likenesses, something that set it apart from many contemporaries. The core modes mirror the original 1991 title – a season campaign and a playoff bracket – letting you guide a roster through a full schedule or jump straight into a knockout series. Even on the tiny Game Gear screen, the familiar EA Sports feel shines through, with the same roster of NHL clubs and the ability to see authentic jerseys and player stats. For anyone who loved the console versions, this portable edition offered a surprisingly faithful slice of the NHL experience on the go.
