Summary
Krusty's Fun House (sometimes called Krusty's Super Fun House) drops you into the chaotic world of Krusty the Clown’s own amusement park. The core mechanic is oddly satisfying: you guide swarms of tiny rats through twisting, trap‑laden corridors until they reach an extermination device that’s oddly personified by familiar Simpsons faces like Bart, Homer, and Sideshow Mel. While you’re busy laying out paths, the house throws a parade of bizarre foes—snakes, Martians, flying pigs, and birds—at you, and the only defense is a well‑timed pie toss. The Game Gear version keeps the same frantic puzzle‑action feel as its 16‑bit siblings, packing bright, cramped sprites and a catchy chiptune soundtrack into a handheld format. Critics at the time praised its clever level design and quirky humor, earning it high scores from publications such as Mean Machines and a Nintendo Power nomination for Best Overall NES Game in 1992.
Storyline
In Krusty's Fun House you play as Krusty the Clown, tasked with clearing each level of rats. The gameplay is a puzzle: you place objects to guide the rodents toward extermination machines operated by familiar Simpsons characters such as Bart, Homer, Corporal Punishment and Sideshow Mel. Each stage requires you to funnel a set number of rats into the traps, then watch them get blown up, incinerated, laser‑blasted, electrocuted or “Krusterized.”
The levels are peppered with extra hazards like snakes, aliens and flying pigs, which you must avoid while directing the vermin. Success means a rat‑free house and a satisfied Krusty, while failure leaves the cadets scrambling to keep the critters at bay.
