Summary

From TV Animation Slam Dunk: Shouri-e no Starting 5 brings the high‑school basketball drama of the 1993 anime onto the tiny Game Gear screen. The game lets you step into the shoes of the Shohoku crew, managing line‑ups and making split‑second decisions that feel surprisingly deep for a handheld of its era.

SIMS’ programming gives each player a distinct feel, while Bandai’s licensing ensures the iconic uniforms and court graphics stay true to the series. I love how the simple controls still capture the frantic pace of a real match, turning every buzzer‑beater into a nail‑biting moment. It’s a neat slice of nostalgia that proves the Game Gear could handle more than just platformers.
