Summary

Fray: Shugyou-hen, often just called Fray, is an action‑shooter that branches out from Micro Cabin’s classic Xak series. While the Xak games are known for their top‑down RPG roots, this spin‑off swaps the sword for a rapid‑fire feel, giving longtime fans a fresh way to experience the same world. The game’s fast‑paced shooting mechanics feel right at home on the Game Gear’s tiny screen, delivering a punchy arcade vibe that still feels familiar to anyone who’s trekked through Xak’s dungeons. For retro enthusiasts, Fray offers a neat glimpse of how a beloved franchise can be reimagined without losing its core identity.
