Summary

The Game Boy version of Ultraman lets you step into the shoes of the iconic silver‑suited hero and take on the classic monsters that haunted the 1967 TV series. It feels more like a one‑on‑one brawler than a traditional platformer: you can punch, kick, grapple, and charge a handful of special attacks that demand precise timing. The real trick is draining an opponent’s constantly recharging life bar before unleashing the signature Specium Beam – a move that can be dodged by the more cunning foes, forcing you to tweak your strategy on the fly. Every bout is capped at three minutes, and you only get three lives with no continues, so each match feels like a high‑stakes showdown.

Storyline

In the future, Earth faces relentless alien invasions. The Science Special Search Party is the frontline defense, but their resources are limited. When the malevolent alien Bemular escapes, Ultraman pursues him and crashes his ship on Earth. The towering hero, standing hundreds of feet tall, steps in to aid humanity.

Ultraman can only stay on the planet for a few minutes before his power fades, so each battle must be swift. Players must guide him to defeat the alien forces before his energy drains completely. The game, Ultraman on Game Boy, captures this urgent, high‑stakes combat in a handheld format. Its storyline emphasizes the fragile alliance between humanity and the super‑being.
