Summary

Ultraman: Chou Toushi Gekiden, often just called Ultraman Gekiden, is a 1994 Japanese action title that landed on the Game Boy under Angel, a Bandai imprint. Even though it never saw an official Western launch, the game’s retro charm still catches the eye of collectors.

What makes it stand out is the blend of classic platforming sections with side‑scroll shooting stages, letting you switch from foot‑soldier jumps to beam‑blasting aerial combat in a single playthrough. The controls feel tight for a handheld of its era, and the occasional power‑up feels rewarding, especially when you finally unleash an Ultraman beam on a wave of enemies.

If you enjoy digging through obscure handheld gems, this title offers a nostalgic yet varied experience that showcases how the Ultraman franchise could translate into portable action.
