Summary
Ultraman Ball turns the classic Game Boy platformer formula inside‑out by letting the iconic Ultra‑hero roll himself into a perfect sphere. The game embraces the Tokusatsu legacy of Tsuburaya Productions, yet it reimagines Ultraman as a whimsical saviour who can switch between upright action and a rolling ball mode at any moment. Each level is a breezy maze of platforms, enemies and hidden paths, and the ball form lets you bounce over spikes, grind down slopes and bounce through narrow gaps that would be impossible to reach on foot. The ultimate goal is to free Ultraman’s teammates scattered throughout the stages, turning a simple rescue mission into a delightfully kinetic puzzle platformer that feels both retro‑charm and surprisingly inventive.
Storyline
In Ultraman Ball, you control the hero in two distinct forms. In his classic bipedal mode, Ultraman can cling to walls and climb them by repeatedly jumping, letting you scale vertical surfaces. When you switch to his ball form, you roll forward, bowling over enemies and gaining momentum on slopes to zip into hidden zones. A bounce ability adds extra lift, boosting your vertical reach and letting you hop over obstacles. By mixing wall‑climbing, rolling, and bouncing, each stage unfolds as a puzzle of movement, rewarding clever combos that open new paths and clear the way forward.
