Summary

The Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun (often just called Prisoners of the Sun) feels like a love letter to classic side‑scrollers. You guide Tintin through a series of platforming challenges, hopping over pits, ducking under hazards and timing jumps to avoid enemies that pop up in each level. The controls are tight, and the animation has that same buttery feel I remember from Infogrames’ earlier Tintin in Tibet on the Game Boy, making the little sprite’s movements surprisingly fluid for a 1997 handheld title. Levels are built around distinct obstacles—moving platforms, hidden traps and occasional puzzle‑like switches—that keep the pacing fresh as you progress. When the game was later ported to the Game Boy Color in 2000, the core gameplay stayed intact, but the added palette gave Tintin’s world a brighter, more vivid look without altering the original’s charm.
