Summary
Terminator 2 on the Game Boy surprises with six distinct stages that keep the action fresh. Most weapons never run out, but the third level flips the script into a timed puzzle where you rewire a Tā800ās circuitry, adding a braināteaser break from the gunāfests. Later you sneak through Cyberdyneās corridors, dodging SWAT guards, and the finale pits you against the liquidāmetal Tā1000 in a steel mill, letting you choose between shooting or handātoāhand combat.
The visual style earned high marks for its cold, oppressive feel ā the Skynet towers, a bleak canal, and that foreboding mill all look surprisingly detailed on a tiny screen. Reviewers praised the music and the way the gameās pacing never lets you linger long enough to get bored, calling it solid, oldāschool Game Boy fun.
A quirky footnote: the developers kept enlarging Sarah Connorās breasts because they misread ābangsā as a body part, only to discover the film crew meant her hair. And despite Arnoldās iconic Tā800 face in the movie, legal limits kept his likeness out of the cartridge.
Storyline
Terminator 2: Judgment Day for the Game Boy drops you into the first two levels as John Connor, leading the human resistance against Skynet in 2029. You navigate hostile Skynet territory, fighting waves of machines as you push toward the enemyās core.
The narrative then jumps to 1990s Los Angeles, where the Tā800 is dispatched to protect a young John from the relentless Tā1000. A memorable chase sees John and the Tā800 riding a motorcycle through a drainage canal while the Tā1000 pursues them in a semiātruck.
Later, you infiltrate Cyberdyne Systems, battling SWAT guards and salvaging technology from a previous Tā800 model. The final showdown takes place in a steel mill, pitting you against the Tā1000 in a climactic fight. Between levels, Sarah Connor appears to fill in key story details.
