Summary

Super R.C. Pro‑Am drops you into a frantic series of 24 remote‑control car tracks, where only the top three finishers move on to the next circuit. You can keep racing by using up to three continues, but once they’re gone the race is over.

The courses are littered with oil slicks, water puddles, sand traps, slow cones and towering tire walls that can spin you out or halt you dead‑stop. Helpful items pepper the lanes: zippers give a burst of speed, roll cages let you smash into walls without damage, and missiles or bombs can temporarily disable rivals. Spare parts—tires, batteries and engines—appear to boost traction, acceleration or top speed.

Scattered letters spell out “Nintendo”; collecting the full word upgrades your car from the basic Racer to the Speed Demon and finally the Spiker. Reaching the Spiker and spelling the word again crowns you the champion.

The game shines in multiplayer, supporting two players via the Game Link Cable and up to four through the Four Player Adapter, letting friends battle head‑to‑head on the same handheld.

Critics praised its crisp graphics, catchy sound and tight controls, noting the satisfying challenge of four‑player chaos. Some pointed out repetitive track design and rapid scrolling that could hide items, yet scores remained strong—ACE 88/100, Game Players 6/10, HobbyConsolas 89/100, Joystick 93%, and a spot on Nintendo Power’s 1992 Top‑20 Game Boy list.
