Summary
Star Sweep (sometimes stylized as Starsweep) transforms the familiar falling‑block formula into a bright, color‑coded puzzle. Blocks of red, yellow, or blue descend from the top, each bearing a star on one—or rarely two—ends. By lining up stars of the same colour, you erase them, and linking multiple clears in rapid succession builds rewarding “links.” The field slowly rises, and if a stack reaches the ceiling and isn’t cleared within three seconds, the game ends. The rapid pacing and combo emphasis give the title a lively twist on classic Tetris‑style play, making every session a quick test of timing and pattern‑matching.
Storyline
Star Sweep’s single‑player story mode drops you onto a tiny island where you must wander from point to point, challenging a series of rivals. The opponents start easy and get progressively tougher, with a default roster of nine challengers that can be tweaked in number. Each match is a head‑to‑head sweep‑style duel, and beating a rival unlocks the next, pushing you deeper into the island’s layout.
Beyond the duels, the game throws in timed side activities. You can chase a high‑score, rack up as many links as possible, survive for as long as you can, or clear the entire field within a short countdown. These challenges test speed and strategy, adding variety to the core sweep battles.
