Summary

Splitz on the Game Boy feels like a fresh spin on the classic sliding‑puzzle formula. Instead of a static grid, each piece launches from the top‑left corner, letting you shove blocks horizontally or vertically until the hidden image snaps back into place – you can peek at the picture any time with a button press. The timer adds pressure, and every missed beat costs one of three lives, so you learn to balance speed with careful planning.

The game keeps all the quirks from its 1986 predecessor: doors that swing open and shut, temporarily ejecting pieces into a waiting queue, and a handful of bonus items that can be combined for extra points or time. Some of those items are traps – bombs that detonate after five seconds unless you flush them out a door or neutralise them with a water tap. Cracks in the walls act like springboards, bouncing a misplaced piece back to where it started.

What makes Splitz stand out is how these mechanics intertwine, turning a simple picture‑reassembly into a frantic, strategic dance of blocks, doors, and occasional explosions.
