Summary

Snow Bros. Jr. is the Game Boy adaptation of the classic arcade platformer. Developed by Dual, it first hit Japanese shelves on May 24 1991 under Naxat Soft, and reached North America a few months later in January 1992 via Capcom. The handheld version had to shed the two‑player mode of its predecessor, becoming a solo experience.

To justify the lone hero, the plot was tweaked so that one of the snow‑man twins is kidnapped, prompting the other to launch a rescue mission. Technical limits also forced some visual compromises: former paired bosses now appear alone, and potions were redesigned with new shapes to stay clear without the Game Boy’s color palette. After clearing the 50 arcade‑derived stages, players are rewarded with an additional ten levels that weren’t in the original.

Storyline

In the Game Boy version of Snow Bros. Jr., the plot is altered: one of the twin snowmen is kidnapped, prompting the remaining brother to set out on a rescue mission.
