Summary
Sensible Soccer: European Champions feels like a turbo‑charged street match, even though the view is a top‑down slice of the pitch that only shows the immediate action. I love how a single button does the heavy lifting – hold it longer for a powerful strike and use the D‑pad to aim, while a novice mode splits shooting and passing for newcomers. The dribbling setting, novice or expert, decides how tightly the ball clings to the player, which adds a subtle layer of skill to every run. Before each game I can tweak the formation and shuffle players around, then pick between two custom tournaments: a cup with up to four rounds where I toggle legs, extra time or penalties per round, or a league where I decide how many teams (1‑7), how often they meet (once to four times) and whether wins earn two or three points. Pitch conditions range from dry to icy, even random, and I can set match length from three to seven minutes and switch weather on or off, choosing from twenty national and twenty club squads with slightly altered names.
