Summary

Rolan's Curse on the Game Boy packs a surprisingly deep action‑RPG bite into a handheld format. The title thrusts you into a land shrouded in darkness, where every screen feels alive with looming threats and hidden pathways. Its sprite work, though limited by the original hardware, manages to convey a gritty atmosphere that still holds up when you revisit it on modern emulators. The controls are tight, encouraging quick reflexes and strategic use of limited items, while the progression system rewards exploration with new abilities that feel earned. I love how the game balances a relentless sense of urgency with moments of calm, making each victory feel like a genuine step toward lifting the curse.
