Summary

Pierre le Chef – Out to Lunch throws you into fast‑paced, side‑scrolling action where the chef must snag runaway veggies before time expires. The game supports both solo play and a two‑player alternating mode, letting friends swap in when a life is lost. You spend each level hunting for a net, then trapping ingredients and dumping them into a cage to unlock the exit. Along the way, germs and hostile bacteria dash at you; a single touch costs a life, while the occasional Chef le Noir appears to raise the stakes. Power‑ups like flour bags and hot sauce let you stun both produce and pests, adding a strategic layer. Oddly, the title made its way from a planned SNES release to the Amiga before hitting Game Boy, a rare reverse‑port that hints at its development quirks.

Storyline

Pierre le Chef is... Out to Lunch on Game Boy follows the flamboyant French chef as he tours the globe, preparing signature dishes. During his travels the ingredients he needs mysteriously flee, scattering across each level. Pierre must chase down the runaway vegetables, spices and meats while avoiding hazardous bacteria and pesky insects that threaten his culinary plans.

Adding tension, his bitter rival Le Chef Noir appears, intent on sabotaging Pierre by releasing the captured ingredients and ruining his reputation. The player guides Pierre through platforming challenges, capturing the escaped items and outsmarting Noir’s tricks to restore order to his kitchen.
