Summary
The Game Boy version of Pac‑Attack (sometimes called Pac‑Panic) drops you into a vertical playfield where blocks and ghosts tumble from the top. You clear blocks by forming full horizontal rows, while ghosts only disappear when a Pac‑Man piece slides across them, eating any in its path. Each ghost you consume fills a fairy meter on the left; once it’s full a fairy piece erupts, sweeping away all ghosts below and often sparking chain reactions.
Beyond the solo challenge, the game offers a head‑to‑head mode that sends extra pieces to your opponent whenever you clear rows or gobble ghosts, turning every match into a frantic tug‑of‑war. A Puzzle Mode provides 100 preset stages, each with a password so you can pick up where you left off while trying to eliminate every ghost in the fewest moves.
Critics praised the title’s bright graphics and the way it twists classic Pac‑Man mechanics into a puzzler, but some felt it lacked the lasting replay value of Tetris or Columns, leading to mixed reviews overall.
