Super Hunchback
1992 Action
Ninja Boy drops you into an overhead, single‑player adventure where you guide Ryu (sometimes called Jack) through eight distinct worlds—forests, volcanoes, caves, fortresses and more. Each world is split into three stages, and after dispatching enough foes with punches, kicks and the occasional power‑up weapon, the path forward opens. The enemy count ramps up as you progress, keeping the action brisk while the level design feels like a portable echo of Culture Brain’s 1986 NES hit Chinese Hero. Though the game debuted in Japan on April 20, 1990 and reached the U.S. later that year, it later resurfaced in a 1996 compilation alongside its sequels. Critics noted the cute character art but complained about clunky controls, rating it a modest 2.5 out of 5 in Famicom Hisshoubon, and questioned whether the handheld version truly improved on its NES predecessor.
Ninja Boy (often just called Ninja Boy) follows the adventures of Jack, a young ninja, in the mystical Kung‑Fu World. The Yoma Clan has seized the princess, plunging the realm into danger. Jack travels across a variety of lands, battling enemies and solving simple puzzles as he searches for clues.
Each area brings new obstacles, but the goal remains the same: rescue the captured princess and restore peace.
