Summary

Playing as Mr. Nutz, an anthropomorphic red squirrel, feels like a breezy stroll through a cartoon forest. The side‑scrolling platformer lets you run, jump, and even swim in a few watery sections while you chase after hidden nuts and coins.

Enemies are mostly one‑hit victims: you can bounce on them, swipe with your tail, or lob collected nuts for a satisfying pop. A single hit drains a health unit, then your sprite flashes during a brief invulnerability window, so timing becomes a tiny puzzle. Health, extra lives, and secret items are tucked away in corners, rewarding careful exploration.

Coins do more than pad your score; the total you gather determines the completion bonus at each level’s end. There’s no hard time limit, though finishing quickly can net extra points. Passwords appear at key stages (except the SNES version), letting you pick up where you left off, and the Game Boy Advance remake even adds bonus water stages for extra splashy fun.

Storyline

In the Game Boy platformer Mr. Nutz, players guide the eponymous red squirrel through six distinct themed levels. The goal is to thwart the plans of Mr. Blizzard, a magical yeti bent on conquering the world by encasing it in ice. As Mr. Nutz, you must navigate obstacles, defeat enemies, and reach the end of each stage to stop the icy takeover. The game’s simple premise centers on this clash between the heroic squirrel and the frosty villain.
