Play Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - The Movie Online

Summary

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - The Movie on Game Boy drops you into a single‑player side‑scrolling brawl where you can pick any of the six Rangers. Each hero begins as a Ninja Ranger; Rocky, Billy and Tommy feel sturdier, while Adam and the female Rangers are quicker on their feet. As you hack through waves of Putty Patrollers you collect Thunderbolt icons to fill a power gauge, then morph into a full‑blown Power Ranger and, if you charge it again, unleash a screen‑shaking super attack. The game offers six stages – the first five are selectable in any order and the final one unlocks only after you clear the rest – and the promotional copy even boasts a “hyper‑action, seven‑level, eye‑popping” showdown against Ivan Ooze. Critics were split: GamePro slammed the music, tiny graphics and clunky controls, while EGM praised the length and tight handling despite poor collision detection and little character distinction, landing a modest 6.875/10.

Storyline

The Game Boy adaptation of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers – The Movie (often referred to as the Morphinominal Mighty Morphin Power Rangers the Movie) drops the heroes into a dire scenario: their Mighty Morphin powers are stripped away, the Command Center lies in ruins, Zordon teeters on the brink of death, and Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd are outmatched by the monstrous Ivan Ooze. With Earth in the hands of this sinister foe, the Rangers must scramble to survive and reclaim their strength.

Players start each stage as Ninja Rangers, battling waves of Putty Patrollers while gathering Thunderbolt items. These items fill a power gauge that, when full, lets the Rangers morph into their iconic Power Ranger forms and unleash a super attack. The game features six levels, each presenting a series of missions; the final level unlocks only after the preceding five have been completed.
