Summary

Mickey Mouse II, known simply as Mickey Mouse in Europe, is the quirky sequel Kemco slipped onto the Game Boy in 1991. I love how the game’s core action‑puzzle mechanics stay the same while the cast changes dramatically depending on where you bought it. In the United States, Disney’s licensing was blocked by Capcom, so Kemco swapped Mickey for Bugs Bunny and his Looney Tunes friends, rebranding the title as The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2. A few years later, the PAL market received yet another makeover: the Disney heroes were replaced by Hugo characters, and the intimidating Horned King turned into a Viking that oddly resembles a pedobear in the shadows. These regional reskins make the title a fascinating case study of licensing politics and how a single game can wear completely different skins across the world.
