Summary
Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge (also known as Mega Man in Dr. Wily's Revenge) marks the series’ debut on the Game Boy, translating the classic NES action‑platform formula to a portable format. Players control Mega Man and can tackle any of the four initial stages in any order, each ending with a robot master whose defeat grants a unique weapon that can be swapped at will. The arm cannon has unlimited ammo, while defeated foes drop health and extra‑life items, and the level design mixes disappearing blocks, spikes and bottomless pits to keep the platforming tight. A password system lets you pick up where you left off after a game‑over or after clearing the first quartet of stages. After the original Cut Man, Ice Man, Fire Man and Elec Man, the game adds four more bosses lifted from Mega Man 2—Quick Man, Bubble Man, Flash Man and Heat Man—though they share existing stages, and their weapons become available for later use. Defeating all eight masters unlocks a brand‑new foe, Enker, rounding out the handheld’s challenging roster.
Storyline
Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge continues the android hero’s 21st‑century saga as Dr. Wily revives eight of his classic Robot Masters and unleashes a brand‑new threat, the Mega Man Killer Enker. After Mega Man defeats four of the revived masters, he storms Wily’s fortress, takes down the remaining four, and then confronts Enker, gaining the powerful Mirror Buster ability in the process. With the Mirror Buster, Mega Man pursues a fleeing Wily to a space station, shatters the villain’s final weapon, and finally returns home aboard a space shuttle. The game’s storyline mirrors the original series, featuring Dr. Light’s super‑robot hero battling the mad scientist’s mechanized maniacs, including the all‑new Mega Man Hunter version of Enker.
