Play Medarot Kabuto Version Online

Summary

Medarot Kabuto Version, the original entry in the Medarot series, lets you start your robot‑collecting adventure with the sturdy Metal Beetle. The game’s two‑version system mirrors the classic creature‑collector formula: Kabuto (Rhinoceros beetle) versus its counterpart Kuwagata, each locking exclusive Medarots and medals behind its unique starting robot. Though the Game Boy renders everything in monochrome, the title gains a splash of color when you pop it into a Super Game Boy, complete with a decorative border that hints at the series’ later, more vibrant entries. A rare “director’s cut” called Medarot Perfect Edition resurfaced on the Japan‑only WonderSwan in 1999, preserving the monochrome aesthetic while offering the same dual‑version split. Even without an official English release, the game’s blend of strategic battles and collectible robots has earned it a cult following among retro enthusiasts who appreciate its nostalgic charm.
