Summary

M.C. Kids drops you into the wacky world of McDonaldland, where two kids—Mack and Mick—set out to recover Ronald McDonald’s magical bag after the Hamburglar swipes it. You can pick either child; the only visual difference is skin tone and hair, so the choice is purely cosmetic. The game supports an alternating two‑player mode, letting friends trade turns as they bounce through the levels.
Each of the seven sprawling worlds begins with a brief encounter with a familiar McDonaldland resident, then launches you into side‑scrolling platform action reminiscent of Super Mario Bros. 3. Beyond the usual run‑jump‑duck, you can hoist blocks to hurl at enemies, flip gravity with a spin device that turns the screen upside down, zip through the level via hidden zippers, or even hop aboard a tiny boat you can both ride and carry. Collectible McDonald’s icons—Golden Arches, cards, and character cameos—serve as power‑ups and keys to progress.
The Game Boy adaptation was released under the simple title McDonaldland, but outside Europe it was re‑skinned as Spot: The Cool Adventure, swapping the burger‑themed graphics for the Cool Spot mascot. Despite the cosmetic overhaul, the core platforming and quirky mechanics remain intact, offering a nostalgic handheld slice of fast‑food fantasy.

Storyline

M.C. Kids (often just called McDonaldland on Game Boy) follows two kids, Mick and Mack, as they dive into Ronald McDonald’s whimsical world to retrieve his stolen Magic Bag. The adventure kicks off with the duo reading a storybook about Ronald’s picnic when the Hamburglar snatches the bag, prompting them to hunt for puzzle cards around the clubhouse.

Their first clue leads them to Birdie’s treehouse, where they collect five cards before heading to Grimace’s loft in the Highlands. After finding two more cards there, the Professor equips them with a rocket and five additional cards from his workshop.

A lunar detour brings them to CosMc’s moon hideout, where another set of five cards is gathered. The final lead points to a volcano, where the Hamburglar admits the Magic Bag escaped on its own.

Mick and Mack chase the rogue bag, which attacks with a flag, a wand and a rabbit‑in‑a‑hat. Defeating it, they return the bag to Ronald, ending the game on a triumphant note.
