Summary
Lolo no Daibouken, released on the Game Boy in Japan and Europe, marks the tenth entry in the Eggerland/Lolo series. Though it shares the casual title “Adventures of Lolo,” it isn’t a port of the original NES game; instead it builds on the series’ core puzzle‑maze formula with fresh twists. Players guide the timid yet determined Lolo through a seemingly endless chain of labyrinthine rooms, relying on clever placement of blocks and enemies rather than brute force. The game’s charm lies in its demand for patience and strategic thinking, rewarding careful planning over speed. It’s a quiet test of wits that feels both familiar and surprisingly new for longtime fans.
Storyline
Lolo no Daibouken, known in the West as Lolo's Great Adventure, follows Prince Lolo of Gentryland as he visits the tranquil realm of Eden. There he spends carefree days with Princess Lala, the beloved ruler of the peaceful land.
Their happiness is shattered when Egger, the self‑styled King of Darkness, launches a scheme to seize Eden and kidnaps Princess Lala right before Lolo’s eyes. Egger’s dark ambition turns the serene kingdom into a target for his malevolent forces.
Determined to rescue Lala, Lolo embarks on a long and perilous quest that leads him to the foreboding Castle of the Labyrinth. The castle is swarmed by an army of evil monsters commanded by Egger himself, standing between Lolo and his beloved.
