Summary

Konami GB Collection Vol.4 is the fourth cartridge in Konami’s Game Boy anthology series, bringing together four classic titles for a handheld audience. The PAL edition, released in July 2000, swaps the original Super Game Boy palette and border tricks for full Game Boy Color support, letting the pixel‑art shine in its native hues. Inside you’ll find Gradius II: The Return of the Hero, Castlevania II: Belmont’s Revenge, Yie Ar Kung‑Fu, and Antarctic Adventure – each a slice of Konami’s early arcade‑to‑handheld legacy. While the Japanese releases were peppered with Tokimeki Memorial girl commentary, the European version drops that fluff in favor of a cleaner presentation. Critics seemed to agree; IGN’s Tim Jones gave the collection an 8 out of 10, noting that the games still hold up and remain genuinely fun to play.
