Summary

Genki Bakuhatsu Ganbaruger (often just called Ganbaruger) on the Game Boy feels like a throw‑back arcade brawler confined to a single scrolling plane. I’m constantly reminded of the anime’s over‑the‑top action as I punch and kick through waves of enemies, each hit accompanied by the series’ signature sound effects. The controls are simple enough for a handheld, yet the game sneaks in combos and occasional power‑ups that keep the fights from feeling stale. What really stands out is how the developers captured the show’s bright, kinetic energy despite the Game Boy’s limited palette. Even after a few hours, the relentless pace and nostalgic vibe make it a hidden gem for anyone who loves retro beat‑‘em‑ups.
