Summary
The Game Boy version of Frisky Tom brings the frantic arcade pipe‑fixing action to a pocket screen, letting you juggle water flow with just a four‑direction joystick. Each stage is a ticking tank; the water level drops steadily, and you must keep the shower supplied while sealing leaks and steering clear of mischievous purple mice.
A bonus counter rewards you for every drop that makes it to the shower instead of escaping through a broken pipe, and any leftover bonus adds to your score when the tank finally empties. One misstep—touching a mouse or triggering a bomb—costs a life, and the game ends when you’ve run out of them.
Despite its faithful translation of the original’s frantic pace, the handheld iteration earned a modest 19 out of 40 from Famicom Tsūshin, reflecting its steep difficulty and limited visual polish.
Storyline
In Frisky Tom for the Game Boy, you play as Tom, a plumber tasked with safeguarding a network of pipes that carry water from a storage tank to a shower. Three mischievous mice try to sabotage the system: they knock pipe joints loose, create leaks, and even set a bomb to blow up the tank. Yellow mice can be knocked off safely at first, but once they dislodge a joint they turn purple, become hostile, and may leap off the pipes to attack Tom. White mice focus on lighting the bomb’s fuse, adding urgency to the challenge. Tom must scramble to retrieve the fallen joints, climb the pipes to reinstall them, and extinguish the bomb before its fuse burns down completely.
